Zuck shrinks from Deepseek, promises to spend hundreds of billions on AI
US markets panicked on Monday because of speculation that on Deepseek AI models would lubricate the search for graphic processors with the NVIDIA stocks DownhillS
But Meta does not give up, with CEO Mark Zuckerberg promising that the technological giant will invest “very strongly” in the AI-Doori “Hundreds of Billions of Dollars”-in the long run, he said during the first quarter revenue on Wednesday.
Zuckerberg already declared Last week, Meta will spend more than $ 60 billion in 2025 on capital expenditures, mainly on data centers.
Responding to the analyst’s question regarding the impact of Deepseek on Meta’s AI costs, Zuckerberg said the costs of AI infrastructure would continue to be a “strategic advantage” for Meta.
Meta considers a Deepseek a new competitor and learns from it, but it is “too early” to say whether the demand for chips will stop increasing as they remain crucial for the purposes of the conclusion, Zuckerberg said that Meta has billions of users.
“At this point, I would bet that the possibility of building this type of infrastructure will be a major advantage for both the quality of the service and the ability to serve the rock we want,” Zuckerberg said.
The goal of Meta with its next Llama 4 model is to make it the most competitive in the world, even compared to closed models (such as Chatgpt), Zuckerberg said. He added that he expects him to have agent’s possibilities – something both OPENAI and Anthrop have moved to – along with multimodal.
“Our goal with Llama 3 was to make an open code competitive with closed models,” he said. “And our goal for Lama 4 is to lead.”
