“All you freakin’ weird couch warriors attacking and humiliating my friends online because you assume I have a girlfriend are freakin’ weird and should be studied scientifically,” Brian, 28, wrote in his lengthy stories in Instagram on Thursday, January 9. “Everyone is wondering why I quit touring and don’t want to be tied to music anymore, meanwhile you call my friends ugly and harass them?”
Bryan added that he was not looking for “sympathy” but wanted to condemn the “low and despicable” acts of stalking his friends.
“Apparently I (had) four different girlfriends in about two weeks and in the meantime my friends and I are just laughing and hanging out like always,” he wrote, before clarifying his current relationship status. “I don’t have a girlfriend and I don’t plan to have a girlfriend, but I have regular friends who I love very much and would go to the end of the world for.”
Brian continued his rant, encouraging others to “go and give your attention and time to the literally burning city,” meaning apparently fires continue in Los Angeles.
“Stop being so boring, changeable and childish through screens. That’s the last thing I’ll ever say about that. I should even go crazy,” he wrote. “You don’t know me. You will never know me. Stop acting like you are.’
The singer added that instead of attacking people in his inner circle, his critics should talk about him because he can handle it.
“I am allowed to have love, laughter and good people in my life. No matter how bad a person you think I am, come get me. I can take all the hate because I’m not a kid,” he wrote in a follow-up Instagram story. “But don’t come after my friends who only love and care for me. Everyone wants you to have fun and make great music, but you guys are making it so hard because my friends get insulted and get death threats on a daily basis.”

“Whether you think I deserve it or not. Whether you think I’m stupid or not. Stop being such boring and fat internet searchers to my friends,” he wrote. “We are all human and I am so tired of people who think social media is a way to moralize people THEY have never met? I guess people aren’t people anymore because they can hide behind screens? Amazing man, I’m done.
Brian, in fact, is not done. He shared another note in which he said he didn’t want others to give him advice on how to “deal with something or things they’ve never dealt with.”
“I lost my mother, I was in war zones and I struggled for five years with all this glory. Sincerely, I don’t need your unsolicited advice, I’m a grown man. I promise I can get through some of the little bullies on the internet,” he wrote. “I’m terribly bothered by the fake s— people talking about me online, but coming to the people I love and care about is my last straw.”
Bryan ended his rant by saying that he’s been taking a break from social media “for a while.”
Late last year, Brian hit the headlines after his dramatic breakup with 25-year-old LaPaglia. In October 2024, Bryan revealed that he and the Barstool Sports personality had broken up after dating for over a year. LaPaglia argued that she was “blindsided” according to the musician’s public statement.
Lapalya took a a break from social media after the breakup and Brian went into hiding. A month after the split, LaPaglia returned to her “BFFs” podcast, where she performed understanding its dynamics with Brian and claimed that the musician was subjected to “emotional abuse”.
