Your Friendly Neighborhood The Spider-Man trailer is finally here
Spider-Man is imprisoned movies for years, and it’s been almost that long since he’s headlined an animated film. The new series Your friendly neighborhood Spiderman (former Spider-Man: The Freshman) is bringing the webhead back to the world of television, but Marvel is being pretty smart about showing it off after Comic Con two years before. Luckily, we now have our first full preview of the upcoming series.
If you’ve seen the MCU Spider-Man movies and thought he needed to have some smaller adventures, it seems Friendly neighborhood has you covered. Set in an alternate reality, this iteration of Peter Parker (Hudson Thames) is just getting started as Spider-Man. He also has a new set of unlikely friends in Harry Osbourne, Nico Minoru (Grace Song) and Daredevil (Charlie Cox). And the biggest change of all? Instead of Tony Stark, his surrogate father is Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo), who decides to help Peter reach his full heroic potential by providing him with new suits to step into.
Also, we seem to be in default Spiderman cartoon mode: Peter balances being a high school student with a street hero fighting bad guys and trying to take care of the neighborhood. We’ll see what else this new show has to offer when Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man to spin on Disney+ on January 29, 2025.
