Xiaomi 15 Ultra is a photo showcase powered by Leica
Virtually any flagship phone can take a great photo. But this did not stop Xiaomi from continuing his partnership with the legendary LEICA cameras to create a photo attachment in the new Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Powered by an elite Snapdragon 8 chip with up to 16 GB RAM and 1TB storage, of course, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has the best specifications. In addition, there is a huge 6000 mAh battery, which is bigger than anything you get from Apple, Google or Samsung. In the meantime, when it comes to charging, cable speeds reach up to 90 watts or just more slowly at 80 watts wireless, which is not a medium feat. And unlike most phones sold in the US, it comes with an adapter for power in the box.
Elsewhere, 15 Ultra has a gorgeous 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 1-120Hz and up to 3200 nits of brightness. It is also available in three colors: a white pattern with a back -back, black with an almost rubber textured roof and a special edition of Silver Chrome, which draws inspiration from some of Leica’s old school cameras. I appreciate that the white model I tested is distinguished by the subtle turns carved in its back, which shine in the sunlight. But let’s be honest, this two-tone metal and black is easily the most attractive of the group, because it really bends at what this phone does best.
Back there is a massive round module for a camera that I am usually not a big fan when used on rival devices such as OnePlus 13. However, this device is more than just a show, because there is some serious hardware inside it. 23mm Ultra 15 equivalent camera uses a massive 1-inch 50-megapixel Sony sensor. Then, for things like expansive landscapes, there is a f/2.2 50-MP ultravid camera. But it doesn’t stop there, because there is no one, but two lenses to increase: 50MP average shooter with 70mm focal length plus a super -high 200MP Periscope massif with 100mm focal length (which equates to a 4.7x optical increase).
Now, I didn’t have much time to completely overcome it through my steps, but from what I’ve seen so far, the Xiaomi Ultra 15 has one of the best rounded photoques for photos around. There are Leica optics along with large sensors and lenses that cover almost every focal length you need daily. And the software has some pre -set Leica filters such as Vibrant or Authentic to really move the cooperation between the two brands.
This was said, one of the things that impressed me the most is that Xiaomi even created a separate photo kit that involves adding the camera clamp with a physical prison button, an adjustable dial and a specialized video button. There is also a case that allows you to attach a standard 67 mm filter adapter. This means that if we assume that you have the right gear, you can pick up some of the same glass you use on your true camera and use it with Ultra 15.
In particular, unlike some Chinese phones such as Huawei, Xiaomi phones still have access to Google Services, so you can download apps from the Play Store. Even Hyperos 2 of the company is a relatively minimalist skin of Android, which looks good and easy to use. And although this model will be available globally, starting with about 850 euros, unfortunately, there are no official plans to bring it to the United States, which is a real shame because no one is selling phones like the one in America.
