WWE’s Seth Rollins Begins Captain America 4 Reshoots
If you were going in the next month Captain America: Brave New World hoping to see Anthony Mackie wrestle Seth Rollins, the WWE wrestler said you should leave your expectations on the ticketing app.
In a recent interview with Chris Van WilletRollins said he would not appear in the film. back to 2023he was shown on set, leading fans to speculate that he was playing a member of the Serpent Society. Marvel never officially confirmed his choice, and Rollins was vague about who he would be. He wasn’t sure about his NDA, all he could say was Brave new world script “went through many rewrites and reshoots. (…) Essentially, my role was either recast or completely erased.” He also auditioned to step into another role or a potential “recast” of his original role, but neither option worked out.
“I will say unequivocally that I am not in the film,” he continued. Rollins actually was a lot insisted on letting his fans down and told Van Willet that he didn’t want fans to think he did Andrew Garfield. “I don’t want these people to waste their time and I don’t want to misinform anyone. (…) “They ended up going in a different direction with it. Marvel knows they have a finished product that hopefully they’re happy with and hopefully it’s successful. but (Brave new world) will be without Seth Rollins. Marvel is doing a great job, it should be good.”
Outside of rejecting Rollins’ role, Brave new world problematic production is quite well known. Its release date is shuffle around several times and his production was on pause after the Hollywood strikes started. After they were finished, the film underwent numerous reshoots and rewrites, allegedly due to negative tests. Initially reports claimed that three “key sequences” were cut in the reshoots, but Anthony Mackie has since described them as simply “a few more scenes.”
This isn’t the first Marvel film to be famously remade, but its misadventures (and the cultural milieu around Sabraone of his key supporting characters) have been hanging around the film longer than normal. We’ll see how Captain America: Brave New World after all, it’s worth it when it hits theaters on Valentine’s Day.
