Why Netflix Canceled Dead Boy Detectives

Netflix is ​​notorious for canceling shows early on. Sometimes that means a show might not make it through several seasons. The teenagers were born decades apart and found each other in death, becoming best friends who turned out to be ghosts. Now they solve the mysteries with the help of a psychic named Crystal (Cassius Nelson) and her friend Nika (Yuyu Kitamura).

The series was developed for television by Steve Yocchi, who serves as co-showrunner along with Beth Schwartz. TV mega-producer Greg Berlanti, one of the main architects of The CW’s Arrowversewas also on board. Unfortunately for Yoki and his team, “Dead Boy Detectives” had a bumpy road in development, starting as a pilot on “Doom Patrol” before being picked up for HBO Max and eventually sold to Netflix.

This show was revived, but it also had a lot more viewers.
