Why Madame Maribl Vike is not in magic with oz
This article contains Potential spoilers For “evil: for the sake of good.”
When you saw “wicked” and familiar with the “wizard of Oz”, you have probably already been able to link between them. You can know, for example, that a couple of members of the famous Dorothy crew have already jumped into “wicked”, albeit under different names. And of course, when you saw the original Broadway musical, you know exactly how two stories intersect, because the “Wizard of Oza” happens against the background of the second act of the show.
M. Pay guys “Evil: For the sake of good”, which should come in late 2025, complete the storyrevealing all the big connections oz with those who have not seen the performance live. This includes the character of Madame Maribl (Michel EO), head of the University of Zeza. Madame Maribl is not in the “Oz magician”, which, of course, is mostly because the character has not yet been invented. The first novel by L. Franco Baum was published in 1900 and the adaptation was published in 1939. Meanwhile, Gregory Maguire’s first novel was published in 1995, and the Musical Adaptation of the Prime Minister on Broadway in 2003.
This is a sad, material -technical reason why Madame Maribl is not in the “magic Oz”, but don’t worry, there is also a more interesting explanation for knowledge. As the second stage musical “evil” shows, Maribila’s influence is felt significantly during Dorothy in Oz, but at this time it mainly works behind the scenes with a magician (Jeff Goldblum). More interestingly, this is what in the history of “wicked”, Morrible is the reason when Dorothy is for the first time in Oz.
Madame Maribl leads Dorothy in oz
As seen in The first movie “evil”Madame Maribl has a significant amount of magical force, albeit much less than the elfaba (Cynthia Eriva). In particular, we see how it affects the weather.
You can already see where it goes.
In the “wicked” stage musical and presumably “evil: and for the sake of good”, Morrible is the one who causes the tornado that accidentally leads Dorothy in Oz. Its purpose is to lure the elfabo from the hide by putting her sister Nesarosis (Maris Bode). Spoilers for “evil: for good”, But Nesa is a wicked witch of the East, which has been crushed and kills the fall of Dorothy’s house.
Otherwise, the second act of the MorRible show continues the scheme with the master on how to knock down the elfeb and restore the “order” in Oz under their tyrannical rules. Since the magician himself is not in the “magic oase” until the very end, and since the bluz itself is not part of this original story, it has a perfect meaning that Morrible is not. In any case, she is a more behind -the -scenes actor who excites chaos and pulls the strings to affect the political climate. After all, after the magician goes from Oz, and Glinda (Ariana Grande) acquires a higher station, she arrests Maryl for her crimes. In the original “wicked” novel, however, Morrible has another fate.
What happens to Madame Maribl in a wicked novel?
Gregory Maguar’s “evil” is very different from the film adaptation and her movie versions, which are essentially the same. Most of the relationship is much darker, and its term is quite different. For example, Fira (Jonathan Bailey) married and has children with another woman before he and the elfab begin romantic confusion. Similarly, the magician makes much more outrageous atrocities on the page, while the Gremer’s elfaby training comes later in her life.
Madame Maribila’s story is also a very own business in Maguar’s novel. After joining the master’s resistance, the elfaba tries to assassinate the post of leader in the book, but falls. Years later, she returns to finish the work, just finding that MorRible has already gone from life. The elfaba attacks the dead body of Maribila, who is broken from killing him personally.
The ending of the novel and the musical are equally unlike, though we will leave these changes for you to find out about yourself (if you choose). Of all its incarnations, the movie “Maribl on November 21, 2025.
