What we do in the shadows final episode has some “secret” alternate endings
“The Finale” the last episode of What we do in the shadows after six killer seasonsclosed shop with the added bonus of several false endings. Did you manage to see all the footage and drain every last drop of blood from the the favorite vampire comedycorpse of? You’re missing out if you haven’t!
If you turned off your stream right when the credits for “The Finale” started, you’ll have missed a very funny scene with Guillermo and Nandor, in which Nandor demonstrates that his dreams of being a superhero aren’t just bullshit. And then there’s also a very funny scene with the vampires watching a clip from What we do in the shadows pilot and reacted with expected malice.
But! Rewind a little earlier in the episode when Nadia “hypnotizes” the viewer through the camera, telling them to imagine the best ending for their documentary – a meta wink at the end of What we do in the shadows yourself. When I reviewed the rescreening provided by FX, the episode then jumps into a parody of The usual suspectsas I described in my summary.

But when I re-watched the episode on Hulu, I was shocked and delighted to see a different “hypnosis-induced” ending: Nandor and Guillermo waking up together in bed, which was already a very funny sight before I realized What we do in the shadows mimicked the legendary ending of “it was all a dream.” Newhart.

My excitement tripled when I realized there was a third option: playing a spot from the end of Rosemary’s babyonly this time you can see the demon baby and it’s amazing. Hail Satan!

To watch all three parodies and have yourself a A clue-style “what if?” extravaganza, you just need to go to “Hypnosis Extras” next to the “Episodes” tab in the Hulu menu for the show. Nadia even pops up to introduce the segments.
You can watch all six seasons on What we do in the shadows on Hulu now. And here’s one last photo of Jackie Daytona, as a keepsake. A toothpick!
