Trying to get a delivery that wasn’t short enough, Matthews mistimed his shot, leading to a top edge at mid-on. Mani sprinted back from his position, stretched his arms and executed a stunning diving catch. The ball stuck to his wrist and despite hitting the ground he held onto it, ensuring Matthews’ early exit for just 1 run off 5 balls. Such catches, which require agility, precision and courage, are rare and have rightly earned Mani a crowd of fellow celebrants.

Mani did not stop with the dismissal of Matthews. He also showed his exceptional ability in the field by making another crucial catch, dismissing Chinelle Henry later in the game. His athleticism and vigilance in the field were instrumental in India’s dominant performance.
While Mani’s efforts stood out in the field, it was Sadhu who led India’s bowling attack. Despite an economy rate of 9.20, Sadhu claimed three wickets in his four-over spell, providing crucial breakthroughs and keeping the West Indies batsmen under pressure. Their early attacks, including the prized wicket of Matthews, set the tone for India’s control of the game.

Overall win for Team India
India, having been asked to bat first, posted an imposing total of 195 for 4 in their 20 overs. Jemimah Rodrigues he led the charge with a brilliant knock of 73 runs off just 35 balls, showing his style and composure.
In reply, West Indies managed to score 146 for 7 in their 20 overs, falling short by 49 runs. Despite a brave half century of Deandra Dottinthe visitors struggled to create partnerships and keep up with the required run rate. For her match-winning innings, Rodrigues was deservedly named Player of the Match. His aggressive batting not only laid a solid foundation but also demoralized the opposition bowlers.
