Venezuelan opposition leader Machado has risked arrest for joining anti-government protests

In her first public appearance in months, Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado risked arrest for joining anti-government protests in the capital Caracas on Thursday. Machado shouted “Venezuela united” to a crowd trying to prevent President Nicolas Maduro from being sworn in for a third six-year term after July elections that many believe were rigged.
