US airstrike hits Houthi command and control facility in Yemen By Reuters
WASHINGTON, “Reuters”: The US military announced that it carried out an airstrike on Monday against a command and control facility operated by Yemen’s Houthis.
“The targeted facility was a coordination hub for Houthi operations, such as attacks against US Navy warships and merchant vessels in the Southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden,” according to a US Central Command memo in X.
Al Masirah TV, the main television channel of Yemen’s Houthi movement, reported early Tuesday morning that the al-Ardi compound in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, was targeted by a US strike.
An Iran-backed group in Yemen has been attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea for more than a year in an attempt to impose a naval blockade on Israel, saying they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians during Israel’s year-long war in Gaza.
