Speaking with Vanity FairRobert Pattinson praised Mickey 17 to “normalize space travel” to the point of overwhelming public disinterest.

I love how normalized space travel is. It reminds me of when all those news stories came out saying that aliens exist on Earth, years and years and years from now. Literally, the president basically says, “Yes, there are aliens.” And all are forgotten. They are back on Tiktok two seconds later. This is the attitude towards space travel…. It’s not like what you see in normal sci-fi movies where there’s a gravitas to it. With Mickey it’s just the same old shit. You go to the other side of the universe and you still just got a terrible boss. Everyone treats you like shit. There is no respite on the other side of the universe. It’s worse.
