Ukraine says it captured two wounded North Korean soldiers in Russia
President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that two wounded North Korean soldiers were captured by the Ukrainian military in the Kursk region of Russia.
According to Zelensky, the two people are receiving “necessary medical assistance” and are under the custody of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Kyiv.
The president said that he “thanks” the Ukrainian paratroopers and Special Operations Forces soldiers for capturing the North Koreans.
He added that Russian and North Korean soldiers routinely execute wounded North Koreans “to erase any evidence of North Korea’s involvement in the war against Ukraine.”
