Tyra Banks gets emotional as she reveals her Los Angeles home burned down

Tyra Banks tells of losing his home in Los Angeles.

The 51-year-old supermodel was featured on the Australian morning show on Monday, January 20 Sunrise that she is among the celebrities whose house burned down in devastating forest fires which began on January 7.

Banks said she and her partner, a businessman Louis Bélanger-Martinlearned the sad news while in Australia, where she shares her time when not in the US

“I lost my house,” ex America’s Next Top Model the owner shared. “I didn’t really talk about it, but, yes, I did. I just didn’t want to draw a lot of attention to myself. I feel like a lot of people need that attention, so I haven’t talked about it, but I can’t sit here and not tell the truth that, yes, we lost our home.”

Banks continued: “We were here at a friend’s house, celebrating and having fun. I kept checking my phone, not at home, but my friends and family, making sure they were evacuating and all. And then I asked my partner, I said, “I see something here, what do you think?” and he ( nodded ). And I just pulled myself together and didn’t say anything to my friends and just stayed in the moment and then we went home and we cried and we had our moment.”

Banks noted that she and Bélanger-Martin split their time between Australia and New York, so most of her belongings are safe. “A lot of these souvenirs are here and in New York, so I didn’t lose them, thank God,” she said. “There were some souvenirs that we lost … it’s tough.”

Wildfires fueled by strong Santa Ana winds and dry weather have destroyed thousands of homes, displaced residents of Los Angeles and killed at least 25 people. According to Associated Pressthe fires covered 63 square miles of land.

Including stars Spencer Pratt and Come on Monday, Paris Hilton and Billy Crystal also lost their houses in the fires.

“I didn’t know what to do,” Montague told Us Weekly on Wednesday, Jan. 15, referring to the moment she realized she and her family needed to escape the out-of-control fire that was burning through Pacific Palisade. “Nothing could have prepared me for this … You just can’t wrap your head around it. I started just packing things that made sense – I wasn’t really thinking about anything.”

Montag revealed that in her panic, her priority as she packed up their lives was “baby stuff.” ( Hills alum and Pratt have children Gunnar, 7, and Ryker, 2.)

“I don’t have any pictures,” Montag said. “I have all these photo albums that I made for Spencer before there was Instagram and TikTok and the iPhone. These photos (which) I will never have again. All that sentimental stuff is just gone, you know?”
