Two people were killed when a plane crashed into a factory in California
The police said that they evacuated the buildings in the area and asked the public to stay away from the accident site.
Congressman Lou Correa, who represents Orange County, about 25 miles (40 km) south of Los Angeles, said the building that was hit was a furniture manufacturing business.
In an article in X, Correa said the victims were at least a dozen factory workers.
Aerial photos taken from the scene show parts of the plane inside the building. The accident also caused a fire, which was extinguished by firefighters.
According to local news agencies, security footage from a building across the street showed a powerful explosion.
“People are just shocked by the situation,” said witness Mark Anderson KRCA-TV, external.
“It was just a big explosion, and then one of the guys came out and said, ‘Oh my God, the building is on fire.’
The crash site is near the Fullerton Municipal Airport, about 6 miles (10 kilometers) from Disneyland.
According to KRCA-TV, the plane returned to the airport shortly after takeoff.
According to the BBC’s US partner CBS, this is the second plane to crash in the area in the past two months.
On November 25, another plane crashed into a tree about a block away from this latest crash. There is no basis it is reported that there are injured people in the accident.
