Tuface: Nigeria’s 2baba Annie announces departure from Ilibia

The singer is seen as one of the pioneers of the Nigerian music scene, paving the way for musicians such as Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy who are world famous.

In 2013, the couple had a widely-watched affair in Nigeria, albeit in Dubai.

The star is widely known as Tuface, although he announced his name change to 2baba in 2014.

The breakup news has shocked fans and admirers across the continent as the couple in a couple and one of Nigeria’s longest running celebrity couples.

The former Plantashun Boyz member said he plans to hold a press conference to share more information with fans and music fans around the world.

“Annie Macauley and I have been separated for some time and have now filed for divorce,” he said in an Instagram post.

In a strange twist, the post was deleted minutes later, saying another word had been hacked.

2baba then went live on his Instagram account to confirm his original post about the separation.

“Nobody hacked my account, I said what I said, I’m in peace,” he said.

The couple also cut ties on social media, following each other on their respective platforms, supporting the singer’s statement about the split.

In the video for her most popular song, African Queen, Annie played the love interest and their relationship is believed to have blossomed from there.

An actor recently took to social media after revealing personal details about his marriage, including childbirth and his husband’s struggles with other relationships, in reality he is young, famous and African.
