Trump says tariffs on ‘external’ agricultural products to begin April 2

President Donald Trump Monday said that the tariffs will go to “foreign” agricultural products in early April.

“The big farmers in the United States. Get ready to start selling a lot of agricultural products that will be sold inside the United States. Tariffs will pass foreign products on April 2. Have fun. ” Trump posted on Monday’s social socially.

The announcement comes, as tariffs against large US trade partners must enter into force at midnight. Trump postponed 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexican after last minute concessions from both countries. North American officials have held talks with Trump’s administration in recent weeks, but have been arranged for a reduction in incoming tariffs.

On Tuesday midnight, Chinese imports will also be considered a 10% tariff. The President has already imposed a 10% charging on Chinese imports at the beginning of this year.
