Trista Sutter says she was “fine” with Ryan Sutter’s divorce rumors.
Trista Sutter were not confused by the rumors surrounding her and Ryan Suttermarriage while she was appearing on Special forces: the toughest test in the world.
“Everyone is quick to assume the worst,” Trista, 52, said exclusively Us Weekly while talking about her stay at Special Forces. “I think it’s human nature, to be honest. I mean, I didn’t know what happened to the world. I say, “You’ve all lost your minds.” I’m sorry, but why is there so much fuss about this?”
After posting a series of cryptic messages on social media in May 2024, Ryan, 50, raised concerns among fans that he and Trista were in a relationship. After Ryan shared that Trista would do not spend Mother’s Day with her children, 16-year-old son Maxwell and 15-year-old daughter Blakeslee, rumors spread that there was trouble in paradise.
Trista was actually on set Special Forces and failed to address the speculation surrounding their romance.
“People were texting me non-stop saying, ‘Are you okay? What is happening? Are you having a nervous breakdown? Are you guys divorced? Are you having a trial breakup? What’s going on?” Trista recalls. “I say, ‘No, no, no, no, no’ to all things. You will find out why and it will all make sense.’
Despite the drama, Trista said she has one positive thing to say: the outpouring of support for their relationship.

“I have to say, it was nice that people really cared,” Trista said. “We have been married for 21 years. The show has been on for a long time, and the fact that people still care has been very humbling and very nice for me, even though it’s been very chaotic.” (Trista and Ryan got engaged during A bachelor 1 season 2003)
Admitting that Ryan’s previous post was “mysterious,” Trista explained that she thought the post was appropriate given the circumstances.
“When you go back and read (his post), it’s like I miss you. I wish I was there for you,” Trista said. “It makes perfect sense. I wish people wouldn’t jump to conclusions, but at the same time I feel like it’s just human nature and people are going to do that.”
