Travis Kelce says filming Happy Gilmore 2 was “a lot of work”.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, said on the Monday, Jan. 13, episode of ESPN The Pat McAfee Show that he has “a few scenes” coming soon Adam Sandler comedy and that filming was a “huge load” of work.
“It was a dream. I thought SNL was supposed to be the pinnacle of my acting, showman or entertainment industry career. “Working with Happy Gilmore himself, Sandman and Happy Productions, it was ruled out,” he added, per Diversity.
Kelce shared that working alongside Sandler is no different than working with the Chiefs coach Andy Reid.
“They are so professional and so much fun to work with. I felt like I was working with Andy Reid in the acting world,” he said. “(Sandler) is as cool on screen as he is off screen. It was a dream. It was wonderful.”

Addressing the theory that he could appear in the film, Travis said: “Man, I didn’t even know there was a job opening for Happy Gilmore 2.”
Travis added that he’s a “huge Sandman fan” and would jump at the chance to star in a movie with Sandler, but said it all ended up being a “conspiracy theory.”
“I’ll look for extra… anything Happy Gilmorean Adam Sandler movie or a movie set — count me in,” he added. “I will do anything in the film. I will be a part of it in any way I can.”
A few months later, in August 2024, Sandler confirmed that Travis will appear in the film.
“Travis … he mentioned it, so we have something good for Travis,” Sandler, 58, said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The actor gushed about Travis, adding, “He’s a really nice guy. You would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s iron and so funny.”
