‘They have been too close. This is…’: Netizens slam Ranthambore tourists for recording video of tiger hunting deer in front of them

A group of tourists in Rajasthan’s Ranthambore National Park have faced criticism online after filming a tiger hunting a deer at dangerously close range.

A video shared by the park’s official Instagram account captured tourists in safari jeeps watching the rare moment from a disturbingly close distance, prompting a backlash from wildlife advocates.

Many tourists were busy recording the scene, with one even taking a selfie as the tiger hunted in the background.

“During the safari, the tourists experienced a rare and breathtaking moment: a tiger hunts a deer right in front of them. The sheer agility, strength and precision of this magnificent predator left them speechless. Such moments remind them of the beauty and cruelty of a place where every moment is unpredictable a truly unforgettable experience,” reads the post’s title.

Wildlife enthusiasts criticized both the tourists and the Ranthambore authorities for allowing such proximity to the tiger’s natural habitat.

“They were too close. This is unnecessary,” wrote one commenter. “Tiger disrespect by drivers and conductors, too close.”

“Ridiculous you let so many people near his residence, absolutely disgusting,” another user added.

Calling on the Ranthambore authorities to regulate safari trips, one user suggested: “The number of daily safaris needs to be controlled. This is so insensitive and disgusting.”
