We were pretty positive about Samsung’s first smart ring calling it “a surprisingly informative health tracker for those with compatible Samsung phones.” We came away impressed with the design’s anticipatory comfort that doesn’t interfere with sleep, writing that we “barely feel it” when trying to fall asleep. This is a boon for light sleepers.

The health tracking metrics are spot on, especially when you consider that there are which uses compatible SmartThings devices to create a “sleep environment report” that takes into account factors such as temperature, humidity, air quality and light intensity. Samsung’s app allows users to adjust all connected devices to improve local conditions.

The main downside of the Galaxy Ring is the price, which was somewhat alleviated by this sale. At least now it’s a bit lower than . It’s a great wearable for those already connected to the Samsung ecosystem, but it’s not the best fit for everyone else. Some features require a Samsung phone.
