The Real Housewives’ legal troubles over the years
Being a Real Housewife isn’t all diamonds and pink — just ask the many bravura individuals whose legal troubles have played out in the spotlight.
While some franchises deal with on-air legal proceedings – including The Real Housewives of New Jersey”with Teresa and Joe Giudice‘s fraud case, The Real Housewives of New York‘s Sonya Morganfiling for bankruptcy and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Erica Janesomeone else’s husband an action for embezzlement – something else stars try to keep the trial from airing. Dorit Kemsley, for example, ran into her ROBA actors for claims that she allegedly owed her former business partner money, but the drama never aired. However, video recordings of the incident made by onlookers made it onto the Internet.
“Obviously it happened, it’s all over the internet,” Kemsley said Andy Cohen in 2019, reflecting on the “awkward” confrontation caught on tape. “I was thankful that the other ladies didn’t touch it this season. …I am very satisfied with our situation, but unfortunately my hands are tied. You can’t discuss legal issues when they’re happening, and I respect that.”
