The next show from the creator of Owl House looks good and weird
In 2023 Disney fans The House of the Owl bid farewell to the show after having a pretty good one, but also quite truncated three seasons. It wasn’t clear what creator Dana Terrace was going to do after it was over, except not to spinoff or prequel of any kind. As it turns out, she’s been cooking something up for a while, and it looks pretty intriguing.
Days ago Terrace and animation studio Glitch (best known for The amazing digital circus) released a teaser for the upcoming web series, Knights of Guinevere. The short teaser shows a young woman who looks like a princess, sleeping in a field of flowers and surrounded by animals…just for then a quick shot of a robot-looking woman waking up in a lab as one of her arms lashes out and attacks the scientists preparing to restrain her. That’s all we get, but the difficult switch from endearing fairy tale to creepy body horror shows that this is a Terrace joint. It is also a little a reunion as Terrace created (and co-directed) this new series with John Bailey Owen and Zach Marcus, two key Owl house writers.
Knights of Guinevere has been billed as a “sci-fi psychological thriller” and Glitch’s first 2D show. None of the three makers are saying much about the plot at the moment, but they are more than happy with the buzz surrounding its first teaser. (After the reveal, several employees on the show have taken to sharing their own Artand fan-made art on social media channels.) The team hopes to launch a pilot project later this year, but things could change and Terrace said it was “far away”. Regardless, the excitement is palpable: She’s excited to “have fun in this new creative space” and Marcus was equally excited about the “very gentle relaxing show for you all to enjoy”.
IT’S FINALLY HERE💙
I’m excited to work as a character designer on such an exciting project and be part of an amazing team! ✨💫#KnightsOfGuinevere https://t.co/I3cKgtnfMO pic.twitter.com/HatDhrbTfU
