It looks like it could be ripped straight from a video game, but it’s really adapted from In the Lost Lands, a short story from Game of Thrones creator who appeared in the 1982 fantasy anthology Amazons IIedited by Jessica Amanda Salmonson.
Here is the official login for the film: “Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson and based on the story by George R. R. Martin, a queen sends the powerful and fearsome sorceress Gray Alice (Milla Jovovich) into the ghostly wasteland of the Lost Lands in search of magical power, where the sorceress and her guide, the drifter Boyce (Dave Bautista), must outwit and fight the human and a demon.”
Martin, who sometimes uses his personal blog as an outlet opinions on adaptations of his workhad no comment to share today except some thumbs up clips accompanying the poster and trailer, and a brief encouragement (“Seek the power. Set the people free”) to go see the film when it comes out on March 7.
