The Netflix original sci-fi series is as serious as it is silly

Chicken nuggets wasting no time building up the irrelevance, but with deliberate intent. Goh Baek-jung (Ahn Jae-hong) quickly charms the viewer with his playful presence, and he has bright yellow pants to prove it. Go Baek-jung may work in a machine shop, but his true passion is pop music, much to the chagrin of his strict but fair boss, Choi Sung-man (Ryu Seung-ryong). The day-to-day work in the More Than Machines machine shop is ambiguous at best because we don’t need to go into the details, but we still need a home base for our protagonists chasing the pet bird.

When a machine of unknown origin mysteriously appears in More than Machines, Chicken nuggets the conflict becomes clear as day. Choi Sung-man’s daughter, Choi Min-ah (Kim Yoo-jeong) visits the shop with a box of chicken nuggets from Chikn Nuggit, a popular spot in the area known for its particularly delicious cuts of mechanically separated meat. While it is painfully obvious that Go Baek Joon is head over heels in love with Choi Min Ah, his misguided displays of affection are often forgotten.

Choi Min jumps into the car and Chicken nuggets shows her namesake as she transforms herself into chicken nuggets. To Guo Baek-jung’s dismay, he now has to explain what happened to her father, who naturally takes it in disbelief. After much deliberation, the only conclusion that can be reached is that Cho Min Ah has effectively been transformed into a helpless chicken hump, and it is up to Go Baek Joon and Choi Sung Man to bring Choi Min Ah back to her human self.
