The most ridiculous and impressive fandom collaborations of 2024
In the last decade geek culture expanded into the mainstream with more inclusive ways to express yourself love for the fans. Once sold only through black t-shirts with logos on them or collectible toys, the merchandise has undergone a huge change.
In 2024 protecting your fans has become even easier than ever, thanks to collections inspired by sci-fi and fantasy worlds in almost every possible fashion and lifestyle arena. Between all the bold casual cosplay, sophisticated streetwear, and even luxe makeup and perfume, there was constantly a collaboration waiting to go viral. That’s not even mentioning the movie popcorn buckets, which were also crazy this year –so much so that they warranted their own post.
This year also had some more daring moments with its mountains of fan merchandise. Read on to see how things have become much more experiential and experimental thanks to the influx of social media-driven singles products and events.
There was a whole month of Nickelodeon celebration Spongebob Squarepants by doing “Krabby Patty Kollabs” at burger destinations across the country timed for the show’s 25th anniversary. But Wendy’s version seemed the most authentic to the show’s rendition of the kind of burger you’d get at a fast-food joint under the sea, especially compared to the elevated foodie stunt versions (they were cool, but Mr. Krabs would never did it).
Wendy brought back the square meat patty for the occasion and it was genius; it hit double the nostalgia quotient so I found myself ordering this one more often. Speaking of food, Deadpool and Wolverine make a pizza line (which is on the MERS-mouth brand) with DiGiorno’s, which had mixed results. It wasn’t the wildest of all Deadpool placements; there were also those Heinz ketchup and mustard bottles, and the cool Xbox controllers.
On the cuter side of things around Halloween, we have the Universal Monsters x Care Bears collection, which mixes adorable bears with a spooky twist through classic teddy bears, Funkos and makeup. Plushies are hard to find at their usual price points now, with third-party sellers selling them at questionable prices. I still wish Creature from the black lagoon a bear.
For Gen Z goths, Pottery Barn has come out with a creepy jam Wednesday collection with a Nevermore Dorm vibe. We were especially tickled by the thought of the Thing-shaped pillow, which sold out in no time.

While the above collection is very limited at this stage, Dr. Martens still has some of it Wednesday capsule available online. Documents and The Addams Family? The perfect match for any goth kid (and kids at heart) shoe collection.
In the realm of beauty products, our favorite crafty match came in the form of Rihanna’s Fenty x Arcane line inspired by the characters in the Netflix show. The very in-depth collection draws on the presenters’ sense of style and power with a quality makeup capsule from our sci-fi dreams.
Anime and other Netflix favorites One piece has been featured in a number of fun collections inspired by the Straw Hat Crew, but the most uniquely unbridled was A Casetify collaboration that turned tech accessory covers into the devilish fruit of the show. The Gum Gum fruit headphone cases were especially fun.
And for Cowboy bebop fans, Logic has dropped its partnership with Crunchyroll featuring streetwear pieces inspired by the looks of the anime characters and their signature iconography to make you feel like you fit into the world of the classic cartoon.

While Deadpool and Wolverine dominated the shelves in the first half of the year, Wicked took the fall. There was an incredible range of pink and green at every price point, much of which seemed to be aimed at Wicked fans who have waited 20 years for merchandise that surpasses any online theater store.
Eighth grade me in the gray shirt that said “Defy Gravity” in the tiniest of green letters would have been shocked at how much Wicked adult stuff I got this year and she will be very proud too. Did I really need to Evil x Con-Air hair rollers? yes Did I really drop an undisclosed amount of change for Beis x Wicked baggage? Yes, I can use it for business travel. I stay awake at night haunted by the fact that I failed to get the Elphaba Stanley cup from Target? Yeah, I stupidly check at random times for restock too for goodness knows that the life of the wicked is lonely.
more Wicked the goods are guaranteed thanks to 2025 Wicked: For Good—although we’re all still waiting for some official meta “Holding Space for ‘Defying Gravity’” version.

The end of the year brought some notable collaborations that left me intrigued to see what 2025 will bring. Nosferatu came up with the most absurd of all, including a bed coffin of a vampire it was more expensive than a limited edition Nosferatu coffin-coffin to be buried in In addition, there is also a Nosferatu perfume collaboration with Hereticfor those who want to give off the scent of a ghost wandering through a funeral parlor full of flowers.
Speaking of bats and the winter chill of the year-end holidays. A continues to release unauthorized versions of the card game, including a Batman: The Animated Series version with chaotic “Jokers” cards for more card smashing on the table.
And Walton Goggins has pulled Baby Billy Bible Bonkers with his own “Walton Goggins Eyeglasses,” perfect for hitting the slopes despite the dizzying reasons why he came up with this because the official ad looks like a performance. (Honestly, we can’t wait for an official one Fallout collaboration called “Walton Goggins Ghoul Goggle Glasses”).
and Squid game season two gets some deeply eyebrow-raising collaborations with McDonald’s in Australia. If fans buy an adult Squid game Happy Meals will get a chance at an exclusive McDonald’s Squid game Green Player Tracksuit or $100,000 if they can craft their own Dalgona candy and scan it into the MyMacca app.
Audiences in the States were a bit confused by the Domino’s Pizza Urgent Ad during their binge on the show, because it’s some chilling deafness in the late stage of capitalism. There are also official collaborations with Puma with new tracksuits as well as shoes and a releasing tech accessories through Casetify. At least with the former, you can wear gear that will identify your voice to end or continue games if you’ve participated in them, but let’s be real, we’re all in the game.
