The end of Stranger Things is near as production on season 5 wraps up
It’s always a big deal for a show to (intentionally) hit its stride final seasonand the same applies to Strange things. The popular sci-fi horror series has been going on for a while, and Netflix has made sure to let fans know that the end is coming.
Of course we do are approaching the finish line, as Netflix announced that the fifth season has wrapped production with photos of the cast and crew on set. Also co-creator Ross Duffer made its own statement over the show’s nearly eight-year life. As he noted, the core Strange things the actors were children when they first joined, and have since grown considerably older over the course of the series.
“(Strange things) was a defining part of their childhood,” Duffer said. “They grew up before our eyes, they became more than actors – they became family.”
Of the crew, he said they also “hold a special place in our hearts. (Much of) our team has been with us since the beginning. Their dedication and passion are the backbone of this journey. All involved were determined to bring this story to a satisfying conclusion. They put their hearts and souls into it and we couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished.”
The way to Stranger Things’ last season was somewhat eventful: production was halted last year during the writers’ strike as Ross and Matt Duffer stopped in solidarity with their fellow writers. Things were further affected by the actors’ strike weeks later, and once these were resolved, production rolled into early 2024. Between then and now Netflix published set photos and provided soooo many flashes of what is to come. Now that production has wrapped, all that’s left to do is wait for Netflix to reveal the season’s release date — or datespossibly.
