The anchors of the CBS affiliate announced on air the death of their colleague at the age of 28

The anchors of CBS affiliate KOLD-TV in Tucson, Arizona paid an emotional tribute to their late colleague, Ana Orsinion the air.
“Sad news: Our beloved friend and host Ana Orsini passed away unexpectedly last week,” the host Tyler Butler told viewers on Monday, Air on December 16.
Sa-anchor Carsyn Currier – who was visibly upset and fighting back tears – added that Orsini had been a member of the station since June 2023 and that the group was “devastated by this loss”. Butler affectionately grabbed Currie’s hand as reporters reflected on his friendship with Orsini.
“We had the opportunity to work with her every day, and we want you to know that what you saw with her on the air – what a funny, crazy person she was – she was the same off camera,” Butler said. said.
Courier explained that her and Butler’s outfits today were chosen with Orsini in mind. Butler wore a blue suit paired with a baby pink tie, while Carrier wore a magenta sweater cardigan.
“And of course we wear pink just for her,” said Carriere. “While there is no perfect way to remember Ana’s life, we want to honor her by sharing some of our favorite Ana moments.”
The clip then cut to several of Ana’s previous broadcasts on the network.
According to the publication, Orsini died unexpectedly a week earlier as a result of a brain aneurysm. She was 28 years old. Orsini’s family told KOLD-TV they want the late journalist to be “remembered as the bright, sunny person she was.”
In lieu of donations, the family urged viewers to donate to local animal shelters in Orsini’s honor, as the journalist was an avid animal lover and “never met a dog she didn’t love.” Orsini had her own a rescue dog named Harley.
In addition to the broadcast, several of Orsini’s colleagues paid tribute to her online.
“There are special people who come into our lives and will have a lasting impact, and Ana Orsini was one of them. Our thoughts and deepest prayers are with the Orsini family at this incredibly tragic time,” host Dan Marris wrote via Instagram on Monday. “The unconditional love she shared with them is something I wish everyone was blessed with. Ana, you were one in a trillion; wise beyond his years, full of practical insight, intelligent, sympathetic, quick-witted and possessed of an infectious love for animals, especially dogs.’
Prior to joining the KOLD-TV staff, Orsini worked as an anchor in Medford, Oregon and as a reporter in Lubbock, Texas. During her time in Texas, Orsini launched her Pet of the Day segment, where she highlighted and helped local animal shelters.
