The 12 best TVs we’ve reviewed, plus buying tips (2025)

There are so many great TVs out there now that there’s a good chance that even the ones that didn’t make our top picks are a fantastic option for you. Here are some of our favorites that just missed the cut.

TCL Q6 (2024): This affordable model from TCL has some of the most impressive highlights I’ve seen on a budget TV without fancy local dimming. I really like how good the colors are, especially when looking at modern classics Dune or Mad Max Fury Road. Google’s built-in interface makes streaming and broadcasting easy, and TCL has a history of making moderately priced screens that last, so you don’t have to cross your fingers too much about your purchase.

Sony Bravia 7: Bravia 7 (7/10, WIRED recommends) is a beautiful display, offering brilliant brightness, naturalistic colors and gentle finesse in fine detail. Its biggest drawback is poor off-axis viewing, which can be hard to swallow at its high list price. Otherwise, it’s worth paying attention to for fans of this Sony gloss, especially since Sony seems unusually to be discounting a few model sizes.

TCL QM7: There is only one thing that keeps the QM7 beautifully balanced (6/10, WIRED reviewed) off our main list: software issue. During my review, I encountered an issue where adjusting SDR backlight levels affected HDR, which could result in severe brightness limitations. Although TCL fixed the problem in a firmware update for me, it is not widely available yet. Most people probably won’t have this problem, so the QM7 is still worth considering, and TCL expects a broad firmware update in December.

Samsung S95C: S95C (8/10, WIRED recommends) remains a fantastic choice while it’s available. It might even be the better option for those who don’t want or need the matte screen of the 2024 model. It’s still one of the best OLED TVs you can buy – especially considering its seriously affordable selling price.

Samsung QN90C: Another great deal while it’s still available, Samsung’s QN90C (8/10, WIRED recommends) has long been one of our favorite TVs for a bright room. It comes in a wide range of sizes and provides a bright and colorful picture and plenty of extras – especially attractive given its ever-falling price.
