Texans’ Chris Boyd threw his helmet after the opening snap in the playoff game against the Chiefs, shoving the special teams coach.
The NFL divisional round got off to a hot start on a chilly afternoon in Kansas City. But the heat was more on the side of the Houston Texans as nerves flared in the early moments of a high-stakes game against the dominant back-to-back. Super Bowl champion Chiefs.
Television cameras showed that the Texans were defending from the rear Chris Boyd almost pushed Houston special teams coach Frank Ross lands just after the opening kickoff of a playoff game.
The Texans punted the ball to the Chiefs to start the game. Chiefs punter Nikko Remigio took the snap and quickly ran through some of the Texans’ tackles.

Remigio was soon in the open field and sprinting toward the end zone. However, Boyd eventually caught up to him and released the ball.
CHIEFS’ TRAVIS KELCE sent an emotional message to fans during his retirement speech in the playoffs.
He then ran to the Texans’ sideline and celebrated the loss by ripping off his helmet and hurling it toward the bench. However, there was one glaring problem – the Chiefs actually recovered the fumble.

Boyd continued to push Ross aside.
The 28-year-old cornerback was eventually penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct for removing his helmet.

The Texans advanced to Saturday’s divisional round game with a win Los Angeles Chargers in the wild-card round last week.

Houston entered Saturday’s game against the Chiefs as a significant underdog, but went into the locker room down just seven points at halftime. The third quarter ended with Kansas City up 13-12.
The winner of the game at Arrowhead Stadium will await the outcome of Sunday’s other AFC divisional matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Buffalo Bills.
