Taylor Swift is planning a massive $17.75 million expansion of her Rhode Island mansion

Taylor Swift she is reportedly celebrating her billionaire status by expanding her $17.75 million Rhode Island mansion.

The singer is said to be adding a new wing with a bedroom, additional bathrooms and an upgraded kitchen.

According to a building permit obtained by the Providence Journal, Swift will add a new wing to her oceanfront estate in Westerly’s exclusive Watch Hill neighborhood.

The expansion will include an additional bedroom measuring approximately 16 by 24 feet, as well as additional bathrooms.

Also, as part of the renovation, the singer is updating the kitchen. While the exact number of new bathrooms has not been disclosed, the total cost of the project, including labor and materials, is estimated at $1.7 million.

Swift’s sprawling 11,000-square-foot estate, known as High Watch or Holiday House, sits atop a picturesque cliff and has 700 feet of private beach.

As reported by Page sixthe eight-bedroom, ten-bathroom property sits on more than 5.23 acres and boasts manicured gardens, an expansive patio and a luxurious pool.

In 2013, Swift bought her mansion in Rhode Island with an all-cash offer. The estate, with its eight charming fireplaces, holds sentimental value for the singer.

It even inspired her 2020 track “The Last Great American Dynasty,” which tells the story of Rebecca Harkness, a wealthy socialite and former homeowner.

“Her name was Rebecca Harkness. And she lived in a house that I ended up buying in Rhode Island. That’s how I found out about her,” she explained. “She was a very, very talked about woman and everything she did was scandalous. I found a connection in that.”

In addition to its historical connections, the waterfront estate, located next to the luxury Ocean House resort, has also served as the setting for several high-profile encounters with Swift.

In August, her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, and his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes were spotted at one of Swift’s exclusive pool parties.

With Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour behind her, the megastar has largely retreated from the public eye, appearing only occasionally, most notably on dates with her boyfriend, Kelsey, and at Kansas City Chiefs games.

However, it seems that the singer’s first major public appearance in 2025 is just around the corner.

During the an an interview on The Pat McAfee Show on Saturday, January 11, Kelsey confirmed that Swift will attend the Chiefs’ playoff game against the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, January 18.

When McAfee playfully hinted at Swift’s potential presence, asking if the place would have “a little extra aura,” Kelsey enthusiastically replied, “Oh yeah, you know that, baby. It’s playoff football, man.”

Kelsey even joked about Swift’s hit song “22” while discussing his mood for the upcoming game, saying, “I’m excited. I feel like I’m 22 again. Baby, let’s go.”

During the conversation, host McAfee dished on Swift’s highly anticipated twelfth album, suggesting it may include more Kelce-inspired tracks, similar to fan favorites like “So High School” and “The Alchemy.”

McAfee joked, “I’ve listened to all the albums, I’ve heard them all…I appreciate you, man. I also think there’s going to be one that’s going to be great, like, a nice guy. It will be great in my house.”

In response, Kells playfully hinted that “there might be a few” new songs in the works, but remained tight-lipped when asked if he had heard any upcoming tracks.

“You know I can’t say, you know I can’t say… none of that,” the football player shyly replied. “I hear music everywhere.”

However, Kelce made it clear that he fully supports Swift’s creative process.

“Oh yeah, come on, you know that,” he said. “I’ll never interfere, but you already know I’m here to support it. I’m here to see where it can go, you know what I mean.”

It was recently revealed that the singer has decided to take a big step in her relationship with Kelce by moving to Nashville full-time.

According to Daily MailSwift’s romance with the Kansas City Chiefs star “shifted her priorities.”

Although she previously preferred New York as her main US base, the decision reportedly signals a shift in the pop star’s “new outlook on life”.

The insider said that as her bond with Kelsey grows stronger, Swift’s move to Nashville is a sign of her desire to plan her future with her partner.

“Taylor has grown up a lot over the last couple of years,” the source explained. “Being so deeply in love with Travis changed her priorities a bit and gave her a new perspective on life.”
