Taylor Sheridan’s first major boxing movie hits the top 10 of Netflix and is not a western epic
Every week, Netflix reveals its top 10 lists for the week before, ranking its most watched movies and Television showsS One of the best movies of the week of March 3-9 is not an original movie or a recent blockbuster, but a 10-year drama for a crime featuring Emily Blunt. Although it may seem that a random movie that should be a tendentified, Sicario, the thriller for 2015, representing Blunt as a FBI special agent, loaded with the Lieutenant in the Mexican Drug Cartel, was written by the Yellowstone and the power of the power.
Sicario is a great crime thriller that was nominated for three Oscars: the best cinematography, the best original score and the best sound editing. In the background, what really distinguishes the movie is the fact that it is directed by Oscar -nominated Denis Villenev, who will continue to direct the Blade Runner 2049 and the sequel to the dunes, and this was the first scenario from Taylor Sheridan. It’s not a bad pedigree and it’s not to say anything about the impressive ensemble. Together with Blunt, the cast includes a talent of A-spike Benicio del Toro and Josh Bolin, as well as to pre-take Daniel Kaluya and John Berntal, who was on top of his popularity thanks to walking dead. (Victor Garber, also known as the cold and the calculation of nicknames of the nickname, also confirming my personal theory that any project he is in is better for him).
Sheridan was not the name he was today when Sicario came out, but put him on the map as a writer, winning him the “America Guild” award for the best original script. And while Sicario presents some of the same topics related to power and conflict between those who live in and out of law with which Yellowstone is known, it is far from the shout of Duton’s universe, Sheridan continues to create. (Sicario honestly shares much more DNA with one of the other sheridan projects that are not yellow, Special Operations: LionessThe Paramount Plus Show for an illegal program for all women featuring Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldanya.)
Ever since Sicario dropped out at Netflix on March 1, he has gained popularity and sits # 5 on the list of the most popular English-language films. While the film was winning positive reviews and was respected by the fact that his writer and director have become two of Hollywood’s biggest players for the 10 years since he was released, he may have helped the movie reach a wider fan base. And if you have already caught Sicario in Netflix, you can watch the less successful but still fun extension of Sheridan, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, On Paramount PlusS
