Taraji P. Henson, more, defend Blue Ivy’s “Mufas” dress from critics

Among the members Jenna Bush Hager and Taraji P. Hensonwho defended the strapless gold dress the 13-year-old girl wore on Mufasa: The Lion King premiere in Los Angeles after internet trolls questioned whether the image was “age appropriate.”

Christian Syriac — who developed a metal stunner for Beyonce and Jay-Zeldest daughter — appeared with Bush Hager and Henson on the Monday, January 14 episode Today with Jenna and friends who praised VPP project alum for a “magnificent” dress.

“People need to shut up!” Henson quipped. “It was really cool.”

Bush Hager also suggested to Siriano that the gold trim on the dress resembled the color scheme of the film she starred in, so it was “something she should have worn.” (Beyoncé, 43, voices Queen Nala in Disney’s live-action prequel, and Blue Ivy voices her daughter, Kiara.)

Blue Ivy initially faced some criticism from trolls who deemed the dress “inappropriate,” to which Henson (a regular on the red carpet’s best-dressed list) clapped back, “It was very appropriate.”

Several other celebrities — including Gray sheepdog and Christina Milian — also joined the conversation to show their support for Blue Ivy’s stunning style.

For her part, Beyoncé has not answered the skeptics and has not yet acknowledged the conflicting reviews. Instead, she proudly joined her daughter in the premiere with husband Jay-Z55, — in a slim black and gold Balmain dress from the limited edition Disney x Balmain label: The Lion King collection.

Designed by the creative director Olivier Rustinthe strapless column was embellished with gold metallic leaf polka dots that, while in keeping with the theme, didn’t overpower Blue Ivy.

After the red carpet was rolled out, the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer praised her mini-me in a candid Instagram cry on December 9. “My beautiful baby girl,” she captioned a post with photos of her daughter posing for photographers. “This is your night. You worked hard and did such a great job as Kiara’s voice. Your family could not be more proud. Keep shining.”

After all, Blue Ivy is a rising fashion star — and according to Beyoncé’s stylist Chiona TuriniBlue Ivy “makes the ultimate choice” when it comes to her stage looks.

Is that the point? The all-white wardrobe that Beyoncé recently wore for her much-talked-about look performance during the break during the Houston Texans-Baltimore Ravens Christmas Day game. (The 13-minute performance, dubbed “The Beyoncé Bowl,” was streamed live on Netflix and is now streaming on the platform.)

For the set, the Grammy winner sang tracks from her Grammy-nominated country album Cowboy Carter. Surrounded by a massive on-field ensemble that included Blue Ivy, they were all dressed in white Western-style suits, with Beyoncé wearing a bespoke Roberto Cavalli feathered coat and Lorraine Schwartz jewelery set with more than 350 carats of diamonds.

Meanwhile, Blue Ivy dressed as a mini “Cowboy Carter” in a crystal corset and wide-leg pants by Ukrainian designer Frolov, embellished with fringe. They both topped things off with a Stetson hat.

“When Bey said she wanted everyone to wear white, I knew we had to look at different textures, different patterns, different accents — whether it was fringe, suede, crystals, American flags,” Turini said in a December interview. yu Harper’s Bazaar. “You really have to build on the elements that make each chapter different so it doesn’t get repetitive.”
