Donald Trump names Sylvester Stallone and Mel Gibson as Hollywood's 'special ambassadors'

Donald Trump is calling on some big names in Hollywood to help him with his upcoming administration.

“It is a great honor for me to announce John Voight, Mel Gibsonand Sylvester Stalloneto be special ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,” the 78-year-old president-elect wrote via Social truth on Thursday, January 16. “They will serve as special emissaries for me to bring Hollywood, which has lost a lot of business to foreign countries over the past four years, BACK BIGGER, BETTER AND STRONGER THAN EVER!”

Trump added that three “very talented people” will serve as his “eyes and ears” in entertainment.

“I’ll do what they suggest,” he continued. “It will again be, like the United States of America itself, the Golden Age of Hollywood!”

After the news broke, Gibson, 69, hinted that he learned of his appointment at the same time as the rest of the world, but shared that he was excited about his new role.

“I received the tweet at the same time as all of you and was equally surprised,” the Oscar winner said in a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday. “Nevertheless, I am heeding the call. It is my duty as a citizen to provide any help and understanding. Is there any possibility that this position is accompanied by an ambassadorial residence?”

Stallone, 78, Gibson, 86, and Voight, who are award winners, have been staunch supporters of Trump for years. Stallone appeared at Trump’s Florida home in Mar-a-Lago and introduced him during the November 2024 event. Gibson, for his part, has publicly endorsed Trump in the 2024 election.

In addition to the Hollywood ambassadors, Trump also listed several other members he plans to welcome to his team early. his inauguration on Monday, January 20.

Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president on Monday, including a few musical guests Carrie Underwood, On Jason’s side, Billy Ray Cyrus, Gavin DeGraw, Rascal Flatts, Kid Rock, Village people and much more.

“I love our country and I am honored to be asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood, 41, said in a statement. “I am pleased to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in a spirit of unity and look to the future.”
