‘Stop the theft’: Understanding MAGA-style protests in South Korea

As impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol remained holed up in his presidential compound this week, thousands of supporters held up US flags and placards reading “Stop Theft” in English as they guarded the site against attempts to arrest him. This phrase was used by supporters of Donald Trump after the 2020 US presidential elections. FRANCE 24’s Yuka Royer and Yena Lee take a closer look at Yoon’s ties to South Korea’s far-right.
