Spencer Pratt defends Mandy Moore amid wildfire GoFundMe backlash

Spencer Pratt comes to the defense of his colleague, a victim of the forest fire in Los Angeles Mandy Moore following criticism over a recent GoFundMe statement on behalf of her relatives.

“Let me tell you about Mandy Moore. Mandy Moore when I was younger screamed Mandy Moore. She booked my hotel for me because she was such a good friend. Just as a friend, she booked my hotel in New York – I had never been to New York. I feel like she even booked my flight because I was having so much fun. Mandy Moore, I will ride for Mandy Moore,” Pratt, 41, said in a TikTok Posted on Saturday, January 11th. “If I see another TikTok about Mandy Moore and GoFundMes, I’m going to follow you. You want a beef with your worst nightmare, which is me right now? You write about Mandy Moore. I’ll be driving for Mandy Moore.’

Moore, 40, whose Altadena neighborhood was affected huge losses in forest fires ravaging Southern California, received backlash from followers on social media she shared the GoFundMe campaign in support of his brother-in-law’s family.

“Yesterday my brother and sister-in-law Griff and Keith (Goldsmith) lost their home and everything they owned in the Ethan fire,” the This Is Us alum wrote via Instagram on Thursday, January 9. “With their first baby on the way in a few weeks, they need our support now more than ever.”

Some users apparently took issue with the celebrity asking for money, to which Moore said, “And people who question whether we’re helping our own family or crediting some arbitrary amount of money that Google says someone has, NOT helpful or sympathetic. Of course we are. Our buddy Matt (Como) started this initiative, fund me (yes) and I’m sharing it because people have been asking how they can help them. We also lost most of our lives in the fire. Please F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything.”

Pratt supported Moore in his video, affirming that she is “the sweetest woman in the world.”

“Mandy Moore is not doing anything wrong,” he said, noting that he has known her for two decades. “If you were good in 2004, you’re still good in 2025. Like I’m saying good. So don’t you dare come for Mandy Moore.’

He continued: “Maybe take down your content about Mandy Moore because Mandy Moore is real. She is a wonderful person. She doesn’t do anything out of pocket—she posts GoFundMes, which is great. She doesn’t have to pay for anyone. She’s got her own life, probably her own kids, so don’t come after Mandy Moore.’

Moore, who has three children with her husband, the Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmithlost part of her house in forest fires. “We were able to park and walk down our street to witness all the damage. Miraculously, the main part of our house survived. For now,” Moore continued Instagram on Thursday.

She added: “It is unlivable but mostly intact. We lost Taylor and Griffin’s studio along with all the instruments and equipment they ever owned. We lost the garage and the house. Everyone we know has lost everything. Not every house on our street is there. My in-laws. My brother and sister-in-law are 6 weeks after the birth of their first child. Our best friends. Strange survivor’s guilt. We love this community and will do everything we can to help rebuild and support it. Thanks to everyone who checks us out and offers us help. Altadena is strong.”

Pratt and his wife Come on Mondaytoo lost their home in Pacific Palisade as a result of a fire that first broke out on Tuesday, January 7. Hills alums said by the time their home burned, they had already evacuated with their two children, sons Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 13 months.

In a video shared by Montag, 38, via TikTok on Thursday, the couple revealed few items remaining at their home after the fire, they were all in one plastic bag.

“A hummingbird pot — with nectar cooked in it,” Pratt said in the video, along with “one (rubber) snake from the backyard, one crystal from the backyard, (another) crystal from the backyard, Riker’s shovel from the backyard yard and broken pieces.’ (Pratt owns Pratt Daddy Crystals.)

“It was supposed to be our forever home, but nothing lasts forever,” Greenberg, 46, shared on Instagram. “Luckily, our family is safe, but other victims of the Los Angeles fire were not so lucky. If you can, donate to them.”
