Special Counsel Weiss will release his Hunter Biden report next week
FIRST ON FOX: Fox News reports that special counsel David Weiss is expected to release his final report on his years-long investigation into Hunter Biden as soon as next week.
Hunter Biden Convicted of three felony firearms charges stemming from an investigation by Special Counsel David Weiss. The first son was also charged with federal tax crimes for failing to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes. Before the trial, Hunter Biden made a surprise guilty plea.
The charges led to up to 17 years behind bars. His sentencing was set for December 16, but his father, President Joe Biden, pardoned him on all charges in December.

A federal investigation into Hunter Biden began in November 2018.
But by 2023, IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler brought allegations of politicization in the federal investigation of Hunter Biden to Congress.
The two have alleged that political influence influenced prosecutorial decisions in a federal investigation led by Trump-appointed Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who they say wants to be special counsel.
After Shapley and Ziegler testified publicly, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Weiss as special counsel to continue his investigation of her first son and eventually file federal charges against her in two separate jurisdictions, Delaware and California.
Justice Department rules require Weiss to turn over any final report to Attorney General Merrick Garland, who has promised to make it as public as possible.

The Justice Department and special counsel Weiss’ office declined to comment.
Meanwhile, President Biden’s pardon of his son came after promising the American people that he would not do so.
But last month, President Hunter Biden announced a blanket amnesty covering any crimes against the United States “committed or committed” between January 1, 2014 and December 1, 2024.

“From the day I took office, I said I would not stand in the way of the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word as I watched my son be prosecuted selectively and unfairly,” Biden said. “At five and a half years sober, attempts were made to break Hunter, even in the face of relentless attacks and selective harassment. They tried to break Hunter, and they tried to break me—and there’s no reason to believe it’s going to stop here.”
Biden added: “I hope the American people will understand why the father and the president came to this decision.”
