Social media reacted to the Jamaica outfit’s apology

Kirk Franklin is apologizing after facing backlash over his choice of outfit and dance moves at a concert in Jamaica. In case you missed it, Kirk hit the stage back in April wearing a tank top and shorts to keep cool in the island heat. The gospel titan is now apologizing to anyone who was offended by his attire and dance style.

Kirk Franklin addresses backlash for performing in Jamaica

Kirk Franklin addressed some of the 2024 controversy in a video he shared Instagram. The full clip is available on his YouTube. In the footage, Franklin apologized for his choices and reflected on the highlights of his year.

He also addressed the reaction he received from performing at the Fun in the Son concert in Jamaica, according to Christian mail. In the clip, Franklin said he didn’t expect his outfit to offend anyone given the hot weather and didn’t think it would come off as “disrespectful,” but it did.

“I’ve spent most of my career dancing and moving and jumping around on stage and I didn’t know that I would ever do anything that would offend anyone in any community, but it happened. And because it is, I sincerely apologize,” Franklin said.

The “I Smile” musician went on to apologize, saying honestly that he will always remain humble and open to hear people and their problems.

“I sincerely apologize because I never want to get to a place where I can’t learn, where I can’t find out what I need to do better, what I can do differently to make sure that when I grow as man, grow physically or in any aspect that I am always humble and humble enough to hear people and their concerns about something bigger than the message of Jesus,” Kirk continued.
