One of the things made by Ronald D. Moore Battlestar Galactica Reboot is so successful that it was basically all that Star Trek wasn’t. While the classic show Gina Rhodenberri was talking about a reliable study of the cosmos, the wall series was focused on the mad struggle of humanity for survival after the genocidal tyl attack. Despite the differences between the franchise, however, Battlestar Galactica In fact was inspired by Star Trek to create a Cloud 9, a civilian fleet whose inside the lush planet outdoors.
As Star Trek created Cloud 9

A Battlestar Galactica The reboot introduced the Cloud 9 in the Episode “Colonial Day”, a very political episode that called for minor changes in the production. Moore Showurunner wanted to submit to the show some outdoors so don’t feel too claustrophobic but he also wanted to avoid that The stellar path. The decision was the introduction of Cloud 9, a civilian ship, the interior of which looks like the appearance of the planet.
At this point you may ask yourself why Battlestar Galactica Shovroununer and other producers have considered that the series first of all needed Coud 9. A short answer is that if the show never lead its characters to new places, the audience will eventually start to go just as mad as their favorite heroes. This is one of the main reasons that GalacticaThe shows about the characters living in space 24/7 still found so many opportunities to visit Capri and other planets.
Most of this exploration happened later when Ronald Moore became more comfortable when these heroes study strange new worlds. Though Battlestar Galactica Showrunner wanted to create Cloud 9 in 1 season so that the writers do not necessarily take the main ship and its heroes on the new planet every week as in Star Way: Original TV Series or Next generation. Thanks to the Cloud 9 (a vessel that looks like a planet), the show can provide a visual change of tempo as needed without force the vessel headline to make any volume.

If the shower was who is either you Otherwise, we would most likely not get a new ship. Our heroes just visit a new planet every week, which is a formula that is popular with a pick and Spoke. However, Ronald Moore started doing show -bizes, writing Star Way: The next generationand he got this job pretty much thanks to great passion to Original series (He even became a Clengon TNG expert with -ta love for Tos). Once he started holding his own show, the masonry seemingly wanted to do something else, so Battlestar Galactica Introduced Cloud 9, so he didn’t have to bite the Trek style.
As hardcore Battlestar Galactica Fans know Cloud 9 did not reach the end of the series. Instead, this unusual ship was destroyed by a nuclear device with the help of six (Gina Inver), the rupture of which with Dr. The Balta led to very literal falls for our characters. But we would never have this ship in the show all If it weren’t for the “Star Way” and the Planet of the Week, which Ron Moore desperately wanted. Ultimately he was successful (so we all!) In creating an independent Scientific-fiction The series, which boldly went where he never came before.
