Santander’s incoming accountant in Brazil is under criminal investigation to embezzle measures as a senior executive of the country’s largest bank.
The revised documents on the financial times show that this month’s Brazilian federal prosecutors have instructed the police to launch an investigation with Ita Unitan’s former Chief Financial Officer Alexesandro Brobel Lons.
Sao Paulo sent the case to the police officially after initial surveys in alleged crime, documents show.
It follows the accusations of ITAO that Brydel personally used the payments that he paid for the Foreign Adviser, he hired on behalf of the Bank.
Brydel was not accused of crime, and the Brazilian federal police said they did not establish or comment on the possible current investigations. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office said it could not confirm the investigation.
Brydel joined Santander: In October and in the coming months, they should be responsible for the main accounting staff of the Spanish group. A role that will make him a member of the Bank’s Higher Management Team.
He received the necessary confirmations from the regulators, Santander said. These include the “convenient and proper” test of the European Central Bank for Senior Managers.
The revelation of the police investigation takes place by the largest bank in Brazil, with the total assets, and two civil trials against Brydel and others, in December-January, have provided demands to embezzle investigated funds.
The bank also brought the lawsuits to the Prosecutor’s attention according to the documents viewed by FT.
After the preliminary surveys, during which the representations heard from Brydel’s lawyers, the prosecutor decided that the “facts” was needed to investigate the police police.
Santander said that Brydel was a “high-quality senior executive” who “will later put it later”, adding that “any developments were monitoring.” The Spanish Lender used to say that Brydel will start as Chief Accounting in the beginning of “In the early 2025”.
Brydel’s speaker described the accusations Wasa as “unfounded and meaningless.”
“Alexesandro Brydel has always carried out moral and transparent during all its activities in all its activities,” the statement said.
According to the prosecutor’s report, it was sent by the police and the court of civil lawsuits, Itanb assumed that Brroedel had funds with the Foundation with an external consultant, which hired on behalf of the lender.
Itaú insisted that Brydel finally received 40% of the payments paid to the counselor, after the money was transferred through a number of entities. In total, Broedel is expected to have received $ 4.86 million ($ 834,000) by civil lawsuits.
Ita ú Suppose that it cannot find the relevant records for 40 contracts with the consultant and claims that they may have imaginary.
Brydel also failed to report to the Internal Compliance Team of ITA House that he and his foreign counselor were partners in the company called Association of Broned.
In his report sent to the police, the prosecutor said that Brydel said that the money received from the consultant was loans.
However, the prosecutor’s report questioned why the transfers were made through companies, not directly by the consultant, and why the two men’s relations were not announced. The report also states the payment period, raising issues related to the “Neighborhood of Transfers” related to payments made by the bank.
In July, Bronedel resigned from Itaú so that he had handed over the case to Santander and was placed in the Brazilian bank. Ito later released him that he had revealed the accusations against him.
The Board of Directors of Santander agreed to the appointment of Brayadel as the Chief Accounting General, before those accusations were published.
The speaker of Brydel said. [Itaú’s] The boxes mentioned were known to ITA Unibanbanco and are required by different areas of the bank.
“It is deeply strange that ITAOO UNIBANCO should raise doubts about alleged abuse, only after Brydel resigns from his position in one of his main competitors to take a global position. AlexSandro Brobelel will take appropriate legal action in this case. “
