SANA Cereal Mill Review: Makes Specialized Flour Piece Cake

The bunker can conveniently hold a little more than 800 grams, so I weighed 400 grams from each wheat platform. (See my guide for The best kitchen scales– This is another great reason to invest in one.)

The two 85mm millions are made of ceramics and corundum, oxide mineral. These mills have an extremely rough surface that can grind not only grains but also dried corn, beans and lentils. For my universal flour, I put the mill when it is best adjusting it (just rotate the mill clockwise until you hear the mills touch). Thanks to the 360-watt motor of the mill, within five minutes I had about 6.5 cups of freshly ground wheat flour.

The mill is not as strong as I expected it to be, but it is still strong – placing the lid of the bunker on the grain helps to mute the noise.

The proof is in pudding

My versatile flour mix was successful, with Sana turned out to be a finely ground flour, comparable to any brand I used from the store. Grinding may be a little less fine than commercialized flours (there were small spots of wheat fruits throughout the flour), but I was extremely pleased with the results. The flour had that familiar powdery fluffyness I got used to.

Both in my cookies and in mini bread for bread, the fresh flour acted the same as any trademark. Both had great and familiar textures that I was particularly pleased with. Depending on your recipe, you may need a pinch to adapt to the freshly ground structural makeup of flour flour, which includes the bran and the germ of the wheat berry.

The biggest difference I noticed while using fresh flour in my cookies was the aroma. Cookies and breads had a different depth of their aroma. They were almost walnuts and certainly more implicit. Both were delicious and raised by freshly ground flour. (Against the backdrop of a recent snowstorm, my husband and I knocked the two dozens of Snickerdoodles, which I did in just a few days.)

I have not yet grinded rough grains, but I have no doubt about Sana’s abilities to do it. The price of Sana is steep, but it is a working piece of equipment that quickly gives great results.

As for cleaning, it’s simple: just unscrew the bunker and wash the stones from time to time or run some rice through it. In terms of Sana’s longevity, mills should hardly be worn at all after use, as they are practically indestructible.
