Samsung’s OLED and Neo QLED TVs reduce glare, add more AI
The company also unveiled two concepts: a holographic TV and a MicroLED mirror display that analyzes your face.
Hey guys, Samsung is releasing tons of new TVs in 2025. There are new models without glare. There are new frame TVs. They even move that art store down to all the other TVs. Lots of AI stuff too. We will check everything now. So I’ll start with my favorite innovation that Samsung has to offer. It’s called the anti-glare screen technology. It’s not completely anti-glare, but what it’s designed to do is improve picture quality in bright rooms. So last year we tested this on their OLED TV. This year they’re also using it on top-end OLED TVs, but they also say it’s small. this year, so we’ll see that in the lab. The idea is that it takes away the reflections, reduces them so they’re not really distracting, especially if you have bright things in the background of your room. It won’t distract from the screen. So I really liked how it worked. This year they improved it. This Glare Free technology is also available in an 83-inch screen size, so Samsung is expanding the size of its OLED TVs this year. Also new for 2025. is the new Frame Pro. So Samsung frame TVs are kind of like an art shop in a TV. You turn them off and there are actually paintings, art on the wall. It looks like a TV. This is the latest version of this. In fact, it has better picture quality than any other bezel-less TV. It uses mini LEDs located around the edge. It’s also said to use local dimming, so all that to say, I think it’s going to have better picture quality than any bezel-less TV before. It will also be much more expensive. And by the way, they throw a wireless box on this TV to connect your devices without running all those cables to the back of the TV. This is the Pro frame. Another thing Samsung is doing with its artwork store is making it available on non-bezel TVs. If you buy a Q70 and above TV this year, you’ll be able to go in there and buy paintings and stuff from the art shop, even if it’s not a framed TV, and of course display them and have it be that art that isn’t a TV show or a movie. So this is a new option available for Samsung TVs this year. Finally, Samsung is expanding their AI features to more TVs this year, so they’ve always had those AI picture enhancements that will still be there, but now they’re adding a few other AI features. I’m not too convinced they’ll be better than the phone’s AI. But they are quite specific to television. For example, one is called Click to Search, so it will automatically identify actors or things on the screen using AI. If you press a button. There is also an AI Karaoke feature where you can use your phone as a microphone and it will belt out the words just like regular karaoke. A few other AI features they add, none of them will really move the needle, and many of them are similar to what you find in the AI in your phones. We’ll see how they perform later this year. Hey guys, that’s all about the TVs that are actually going on sale this year, but behind me you’ll see some TVs. These are concepts, so they won’t go on sale anytime soon, but they’re still pretty cool. One of them is a hollow display. So this thing is basically like a hologram. Images stick out from the TV. I walked around and they basically disappear as you move away from the center. When you go to an extreme angle, you can see them pop out again. So it’s a really cool effect personally. I don’t know how well you can see it in the video here, but trust me, it’s pure hologram. Another is a mirror display. It is a mirror micro LED. They say it’s a potential thing you could buy next. It’s a concept for now. Imagine a mirror that you put on top of your outfit and you can actually use it to scan your face and it will tell you what kind of skin care products you need and you can even use it to watch like a YouTube video , while doing your skincare at the same time. Perfect for me. I totally use it all the time. And the third concept here is a transparent micro LED. Now Samsung released this last year but this year they are showing even more applications for it. So there are some things you can see through the screen with like a frame in the background. Here’s the micro. The LED transparent screen itself is kind of a concept of how this works, and again, it’s a completely transparent display that’s not available for sale this year and probably won’t be anytime soon, but it’s a really cool concept to be able to see right through that screen and put whatever you want behind it. So that’s a look at Samsung’s 2025 TVs, both the ones shipping this year and the concepts, a bunch of TVs, a bunch of screens from the world’s biggest screen maker, but it’s what you’d expect. I’m here at CES 2025. If you liked what you saw, don’t forget to like and subscribe.
