Robin Lively defends Blake after accusations that ‘it’s over with us’.
Among the actresses a legal battle against the director and co-star of It Ends With Us. Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment and retaliation came support from her older brother via a heated Instagram post.
In it, the Teenage Witch star defends her little sister while urging the public to be mindful of the sensitive issue Blake is currently facing.

Robin Lively asks fans not to make snap decisions about Blake or other celebrities
In her Instagram post, published on December 22, older sister Lively began by asking for all the details of Blake’s case against Baldoni.
“I encourage everyone to read The NY Times article in its entirety,” Robin wrote, adding:
“This calls out to those behind the ruthless and vile smear campaign that aimed to destroy my sister. It also highlights the truth and what actually happened that she actually went through while filming It Ends With Us.
The NYT article, published along with Blake Lively’s complaint to the California Department of Civil Rights, alleges that Baldoni and producer Jamie Heath conspired to create a smear campaign involving the 37-year-old “Gossip Girl” actress.

In the lawsuit, Blake cited numerous problems with Baldoni on the set of “It Ends With Us,” including his alleged penchant for sharing details of non-consensual sexual encounters and attempts to add scenes in the script where her character would be nude or depicted in a sexualized manner.
Baldoni and Heath have denied all allegations.

Robin shows his love for his “bear” sister.
Robyn later mentioned in her Instagram post that despite being familiar with her sister’s work, the public doesn’t know Blake as a person.
“We live in an age where we have access to people’s private lives like never before – especially actors,” she continued, writing:
“It gives us the feeling that we know them. We see them on social media, watch clips of them and make snap judgments about their character. The only reason I can comment on this is because I’m guilty of it too. We all are. The truth is that we don’t know them.”
Robyn then called her younger sister “one of the kindest, most honest and loving people” she knows.
“Blake is not a villain,” the Savannah actress added, writing:

“She’s a mama bear at heart, a loving and supportive wife, sister, friend and someone who worked her ass off on the film in abhorrent working conditions.”

Robin is proud that Blake told her “the truth”

Among the many criticisms Blake received during the promotional launch of It Ends With Us was her attempt to emphasize the lighter side of her character, Lily. According to her complaint, the studio allegedly requested that the film’s domestic violence narrative not be emphasized.
“The truth in the tabloids isn’t always what you think it is,” explained Robyn (seen with Blake, Laura’s younger sister and Elaine’s mother, above), “but honesty prevails.” Today is a good day. My boundless gratitude for your kindness here and consideration for my sister.’
Robin ended by giving Blake flowers, expressing how “proud” she was of her.
“(I’m) proud that she handled it with such grace and that she didn’t give in, that she didn’t allow herself to be silenced by adversity and lies,” she wrote, adding:
“I hope it gives others the strength to do the same.”

Others have shown support for Blake during her difficult time

Since Lively and Baldoni’s case broke, those who know and worked closely with the actress have released statements of support.
Writer Colleen Hoover, the original author of the novel It Ends With Us, was one of the first talk further On behalf of Blake.
“(Blake) you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met,” Hoover wrote on her Instagram Stories on December 21. – Thank you for being the person you are. Never change. It will never remain.”
Likewise, three of her co-stars in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants franchise – America Ferraro, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn – came together for a joint statement, sharing that they “stand with her as she fights the reports of a campaign to destroy her reputation.” .
Some, like comedian Amy Schumer, who has never worked directly with Blake, gave simple words that spoke volumes.
“I believe Blake,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

What happened after the story dropped

In the days following Lively’s claim and the NYT article, talent agency WME dropped Baldoni. They did not give further comments.
Through his lawyer, Baldoni called the accusations of the actress “completely false, outrageous and deliberately obscene with the aim of publicly offending and reframing the narrative in the media”.
It Ends With Us is now available to stream on Netflix.
