Reba sitcom alumni who appeared on Reba McIntyre’s Happy’s Place

Happy place was happy to keep it in the family of TV people, gaining many stars Reba McIntyrepast sitcom Reba.

Rebawhich aired from 2001 to 2007, starred McIntyre, Melissa Peterman, Christopher Rich, Joanna Garcia Swisher and Steve Howie. Almost two decades later, McIntyre and Peterman reunited with the former Reba executive manufacturer Kevin Abbott on Happy place.

“We are new characters. This is a new time and it is different. But the basic things you liked about it are there. (Although) the feel is really different,” Peterman exclusively said Us Weekly in October 2024 “As far as trying to use things that (Reba fans) love — like the chemistry that we have — it’s there no matter what. We are just new characters. And Barbra Jean (of Reba) was forced on Reba because she married her ex-husband. Gabi is there because she’s her friend.’

Peterman applauded Happy place to find a way”save the magic” without copying the same sitcom structure.

“The other big difference is real-life family and blended families,” she noted. “Happy place it’s all about finding a family at work, and Belissa (Escabedo) the character also finds a family she didn’t know existed and figures it out. You’ll feel the same warm feeling, but you’ll feel it in a new way.”

Her colleague Howie felt the same way when he joined a potential multi-series arc. “Kevin had the idea for this character ahead of time. And then he said, “What if Howie does this?” It would be great to have a meeting.” I fit the description of the character, so he called me,” Howie recalled us in two months. “The planets just aligned on this one.”

He continued, “Now, 20 years later, I can bring different experiences to the characters I play. Also the relationship of characters — because Happy place the new thing is different. Yes, it’s Reba and Melissa, but the characters are different. Bobby is very different from Reba. Gabby is very different from Barbara Jean, and Danny is obviously different.’
