Real estate mogul details how Los Angeles can rebuild after wildfires, says California leaders must ‘step up’
Mauricio Umansky, the agency’s founder and CEO, criticizes state leadership and high costs for homeowners, but offers some “optimism” about California’s recovery from the devastating wildfires.
While many Californians openly disapprove of the state of California’s response to the tragic and uncontained wildfires, Agency Director Mauricio Umansky believes they can “step up” and help rebuild the Golden State.
“I predict the damage will be north of $100 billion. And we’re going to need absolutely everybody’s help,” Umansky said. On “Varney & Co.” Friday
“It’s very unlikely that you’ll be able to get back home,” he continued will get involved in all these things and help rebuild.”

A new analysis released by JPMorgan estimates that total economic losses and insured losses from the deadly wildfires affecting Southern California will likely be the costliest in the state’s history. up to $50 billion.

Umansky’s real estate brokerage has more than 50,800 listings in the greater Los Angeles area, according to its website.
“It’s got to be a process. There’s going to be a lot of questions, I think. Obviously, we’ve got to catch the fire and we’ve got to take care of all of it about residents who lost their homes and were displaced,” said the executive director.
Pierre Debbas, managing partner of Romer Debbas, says the economic fallout from the California wildfires will continue to be a “sad story.”
Homeowners “need” state and city leaders to help with disaster relief, relief and recovery efforts, Umansky argued, but ultimately expressed doubt about their ability; “I don’t think they will.”

“They have repeatedly proven that they don’t have the means or brains to do it, simply. focus on the wrong things. “We are one of the largest economies in the world. We are the highest taxed economy in the country. And we are not doing everything right,” he criticized.
“But the optimism in me is that I hope and pray for the rebuilding of these communities, that we’re a very important part, that we’re doing the right thing and that we’re figuring out how to do it,” Umansky expanded, “that They get a task force, so they have advisors around them who know what they’re doing and who listen and actually act.”
