Prithvi Shaw explodes, posts sensational message to attack MCA after rejecting VHT

Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw has reacted to his omission from the squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. The batsman floated his record in List A cricket, saying that things can’t get any worse for him as he has such a great record.

Young batsman Prithvi Shaw failed to make the cut in the Mumbai squad for the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. The batsman was dropped from the squad as the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced the 17-strong squad for the tournament on Tuesday (December 17).

In the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he amassed 197 runs at an average of 21.88 with a best of 49 runs, which came against Vidarbha in the quarter-finals.

Shaw was expected to be included in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy squad, especially with the kind of record he has in 50-over cricket. But his name not being there was a big surprise.

Not only happy with his omission, Shaw took to his Instagram account and expressed his disappointment. He noted that he has scored 3,399 runs in 65 innings at an average of 55.7. But he also kept his faith in god, saying that he would surely return. On his Instagram account, he explained:

“Tell me God, what else do I need to see. If 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 with a strike rate of 126, I’m not good enough… but I’ll keep my faith in you, and Hopefully, people still believe in me because I will come back for sure… OM SAI RAM.
