Prince William, Princess Kate Middleton and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louisdelivered a dose of holiday cheer with their 2024 Christmas card.
“We wish everyone a Merry Christmas 🎄,” the family signed the message on social networks, where they shared this year’s holiday greetings. The royal image was taken earlier this year when Kate, 42, posted an intimate home video announcing she had finished chemotherapy.
William and Kate wished royal watchers a “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year” in a card that was placed on a wooden table in front of the Christmas tree for a social media video. The clip was animated to show the snow as the family beamed.
The holiday card comes at the end of a difficult year for the family of five. In January, Kensington Palace announced that Kate passed a “scheduled” abdominal surgeries. At the time, she stepped away from the public eye to focus on her recovery.

“I had major abdominal surgery in London in January and at the time it was thought to be non-cancerous. The operation was successful, but tests after the operation revealed cancer,” Kate said in a video statement. “So my medical team advised me to undergo preventive chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of treatment.”
Kate added that the news came as a “huge shock”, noting that she and William were “doing everything they could to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family”.
In September, Kate showed that she has completed a course of chemotherapyadmitting that the “last nine months” have been “incredibly difficult for us as a family”. She said she is doing everything she can “to stay cancer free” although her “road to treatment and full recovery” is still “long”.

Kate addressed the snafu at that time. “Like many amateur photographers, I experiment with editing from time to time,” she wrote in a statement released via X. “I wanted to apologize for any confusion caused by the family photo we shared yesterday. I hope all those celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”
This incident was not the first time William and Kate, 42, have been accused of photoshopping their photos. Royal watchers pointed out apparent inconsistencies in the couple’s 2023 holiday card, including what some believed to be extra limbs and missing limbs.
