Omv Petrom and ROMGAZ have started drilling the first well in the deep design of Neptu, which claims that the largest natural gas project in the Black Sea of Romania and the first deep water offshore project in Romania.

The fields of 160 km offshore in the Black Sea, South and Domino fields of Neptune will significantly promote Romanian gas production by 2027.

Neptune’s deep project aims to contribute to about eight billion cubic meters of gas production every year when the production of plateau has been purchased.

The project is making progress, as planned, the first drilling drill will take two or three months.

From Neodrill, Can-Dutor has been used to install good grounds to minimize the environment.

Drilling operations will use Transocean Barents Mobile Drilling Unit, which is a special contract for this project.

OMV Parroc Ceo Christina Verchere said:

“In addition, the project contributes to the Romanian economy. It is estimated at the lifetime of the program by the state budget of 20 billion euros. 2027

Halliburton’s Energy Services Romania and Newport Drilling Liquids Eastern Europe will provide integrated drilling services, including cement, guidance drilling and good completion.

The development of southern and domino fields will require a three-sub-free product system, surface water offshore natural gas platform and other natural gas pipeline to Tuzla, among other infrastructure.

The offshore platform will create its electricity, adhering to high security and environmental standards.

The wells and the fields will operate remotely, using digital twins, and the natural energy of the reservoir will move the gas to shore, eliminating the need for compression.

This approach, along with other features of the program, ensures that emissions are significantly lower than the benchmarks.
