Novak Djokovic has shared an MRI showing his knee injury after fans booed him for leaving the match

Novak Djokovic put it all in there.

The Serbian tennis star posted a scan of his injured left thigh on social media on Sunday morning to be flattered At the Australian Open when he dropped a set in the semifinals. He said at a press conference that he had torn a muscle, but faced criticism on social media from fans who questioned the seriousness of the injury.

Djokovic appears to have let the backlash get to him, posting a photo of his MRI on X on Saturday to prove his doubters wrong.

“I thought I’d leave it here for all the ‘sports injury’ experts out there,” he said.

The veteran tennis star did not provide any additional information, such as the exact diagnosis she received or any timeline for her recovery.

Djokovic, 37, retired from Alexander Zverev on Friday after dropping the first set in a tiebreak. After shaking hands with Zverev and the chair umpire, Djokovic gathered his gear and started walking towards the locker room.

Some in the audience at Rod Laver Arena were booing him. Djokovic gave two thumbs up before leaving.

Zverev punished those who cursed Djokovic during his court interview.

“I know everyone has paid for the tickets and everyone wants to hopefully see a great five-set match,” Zverev said. “But you have to understand – Novak Djokovic is someone who has given absolutely everything of his life to this sport for the last 20 years.”

Djokovic, coming off a four-set win against Carlos Alcaraz in Tuesday night’s quarterfinals, was injured late in the first set of his previous match.

Djokovic finished that match with a bandage on his upper left leg and wore the same bandage against Zverev.

“I did my best to manage the muscle tear,” Djokovic said at a press conference on Friday.

“Towards the end of that first set, I started to feel more and more pain,” he said. “Probably too much for me to handle right now. Unfortunate ending, but I tried.”
