Nintendo Switch 2 mockup revealed by accessory maker

A third-party gaming accessory manufacturer created a mockup of the Nintendo’s next video game consoleon Switch 2and shows off features Nintendo has yet to announce, including an optical sensor and a new button on the controller.

Genkiis a US-based hardware brand owned by Human Things product demonstration at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. He posted a video on his website of an alleged Switch 2 replica that he will be making accessories for. Genki says that Nintendo will release its sequel to the popular Switch handheld console in April, and that the new Joy-Con controllers will have several new features.

Neither Genki nor Nintendo of America immediately responded to requests for comment.

C videoGenki says the mockup is based on a Switch 2 console it had access to, and has included a sign-up form on its website so customers can get more information when it’s released.

Among those features are a set of magnets to attach to the console’s screen instead of sliding off, an optical sensor that could allow the controller to act as a mouse, and C button this has also been seen in other upcoming third-party products. Nintendo has yet to officially announce the new console or any of the new controller features it will include.

Speculation about Nintendo’s next console has been rife for several years. The new information about the controller has led to speculation that the optical sensor in the alleged new Joy-Con could be used in games as a computer mouse, a feature that game maker used in the Super Nintendo days. As for C button, can mean “camera” or “chat” or just be a random letter assigned to another console function.
